My love for making pictures started in high school. I made a cover for a writing project in English class. I don’t think it was part of the assignment, but I spent a lot of time on it. It had a sun, a moon, and a tree on it. That was the beginning of my love for making pictures. Eventually I started putting words with the pictures and I was hooked. There is so much you can do with words and pictures!
About My Work
I usually start a story by making three pictures. I put as much time and effort into those three pictures as I do for the pictures that go into my books. This gives me some time to think about the story before I write it. After the three pictures are complete, I write and sketch out the story in a storyboard. Sometimes I end up with a story that will work well for a book, and other times I don’t.
Three Things You Didn’t Know About Me
1. I can touch my nose with my tongue.
2. I can wiggle my ears without touching them.
3. When I knock on the top of my head it sounds hollow, which is not a big surprise!
