I spent my childhood riding bicycles, making pictures, and chasing frogs whenever possible. Thankfully, I am still doing all of those things as a so-called grown-up. The only difference is that I’m now a mom to two girls and a fifty-pound lap dog. Our daily adventures are often the inspiration for my stories and illustrations.
I Feel Five is my first book with Candlewick Press—it’s a story about pancakes, birthdays, and crowns, three of my favorite things. I wrote the story after my eldest daughter told me she didn’t feel five on her fifth birthday. I used watercolor and ink to make the illustrations.
Three Things You Might Not Know About Me:
1. I once worked in a cookie factory.
2. I love iguanas, snails, and coyotes.
3. I’ve ridden my current bike more than 30,000 miles. That’s more than enough to go all the way around the world!
