Metadata Coordinator
Candlewick Press seeks a meticulous professional to join our team as a Metadata Coordinator responsible for ensuring title data integrity across all Candlewick systems as well as some of our partners and accounts. The Metadata Coordinator will pay particular attention to data such as book taglines and summaries; keywords; excerpts and chapter samples; author and illustrator biographies; images; videos; reviews and awards. This role will be tasked with ensuring content exists for all of our titles, as well as those of our imprints, and that it is accurate, complete, and current in all of our systems. . Importantly, the role will also be tasked with optimizing the metadata for online search and consumer sales

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Create the initial import of metadata for each season into our distributor's system and maintain the accuracy and completeness of that data for all titles.

- Help with all data projects related to ONIX title data feeds in coordination with our Business Analysis and Reporting Manager.

- Monitor and work within the following systems: Biblio,, MyHouse, Edelweiss, and NetGalley. In addition, review, monitor and work to optimize the data as it appears on our partner/customer sites -- in particular Amazon, B&N, and Indiebound. Work with the sales team to identify opportunities to change/improve metadata to capitalize on potential sales opportunities.

- Identify opportunities to improve our processes, as well as develop new ones.

- Liaise with our sister companies and our imprint partners in order to make sure we have covers, copy, etc. for all of their titles in a timely manner.

- Work closely with Editorial, Editorial Services, Inventory, IT, Finance, and Commercial Operations/Marketing Services.

- Required Skills and Experience:
Excellent communication skills and confidence when working with data management systems, as well as good technical, analysis, and strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookup functions, etc.) to work with data efficiently are required.

- Extremely organized
- Detail oriented and meticulous
- Able to work to a schedule and help others do so, if necessary
- Proactive in their approach to their work as well as with problem solving
- Capable of balancing priorities
- Able to work with people across multiple departments
- Comfortable working within different software systems and understand the concept of data structures, data field mapping and other typical information system structures
- Experienced in publishing, online search and consumer marketing
